Program Overview
Designed for Nurse Practitioners looking to strengthen clinical decision-making and procedural skills in orthopedic care.
This two-day orthopedic conference is designed to provide nurse practitioners with evidence-based teaching and practical procedural training in the evaluation and management of common musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. Participants will strengthen clinical decision-making, review imaging and treatment considerations and build hands-on skills applicable to everyday patient care.

Day OneClinical Foundations
Attendees will review musculoskeletal exam principles, relevant anatomy, shoulder and knee examination techniques, common upper- and lower-extremity conditions, imaging essentials, injection considerations, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making for common orthopedic complaints.

Itinerary

Attendees will check in, receive course materials, confirm CE documentation details and get oriented to the training space. Light refreshments will be available.

Attendees will review shoulder anatomy, common pathologies, focused exam techniques, imaging essentials and upper-extremity differential diagnosis, including cervical spine conditions, cubital tunnel syndrome and carpal tunnel syndrome. The session also covers conservative treatment, pharmacology, injection safety, documentation, coding, informed consent, and patient selection.

Attendees will review knee anatomy, common pathologies, exam maneuvers, imaging essentials, injection treatment options, indications and contraindications, complication prevention, documentation, coding, informed consent, and preparation for Day 2.

Day TwoHands-On Skills Lab
Day 2 is devoted to supervised procedural practice, including knee aspiration, injection, casting and splinting application. The workshop also includes: imaging essentials, treatment algorithms, return-to-work and return-to-sport guidance, documentation and billing tips, a final hands-on skills check, Q&A, course wrap-up and certificate distribution.

Training includes: subacromial and glenohumeral shoulder injections, trigger point injection techniques, knee intra-articular injection, knee aspiration, aseptic technique, needle selection, post-procedural care, complication management, technique troubleshooting, instructor feedback and return-to-clinic workflow guidance.
